China decides to lift import ban on US logs following assessment of US corrective measures: customs authority

China's General Administration of Customs (GAC) announced on Friday it has decided to repeal Announcement No. 29 of 2025 (on the suspension of imports of US logs), according to a GAC statement.


The move follows an evaluation of the corrective measures taken by the US side and is in accordance with relevant Chinese laws, regulations, and international standards on phytosanitary measures. The decision will ta

ke effect on November 10, 2025, per the statement.

GAC in early March announced the immediate suspension of log imports from the US, in accordance with the relevant laws, aiming to prevent the introduction of harmful species and protect China's agricultural and forestry production, as well as its ecological security, the GAC said.
