China's Xi Jinping to pay official visit to Russia

Chinese leader Xi Jinping will travel to Russia for official ceremonies marking the end of World War II. His visit will last for four days, according to the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.


"At the invitation of President Vladimir Putin of the Russian Federation, President Xi Jinping will pay a state visit to Russia from May 7 to 10 and attend the celebrations marking the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the

Great Patriotic War in Moscow," the statement reads.


It is worth noting that a large parade will take place in Moscow on May 9, to which Putin has invited several leaders from other countries.

Bilateral talks are to be held during the visit and will focus on the core aspects of further advancement of Russia-China relations of comprehensive partnership and strategic cooperation, as well as pressing matters on the international and regional agendas.


Additionally, the two leaders are to sign a number of bilateral inter-governmental and inter-departmental documents.
