An exhibition celebrating the relationship between music and traditional Chinese art has opened in New York, offering visitors an immersive look at China's cultural heritage.

Titled "The Unheard Melody: Exhibition of Music in Chinese Paintings," the exhibition features a curated collection of ancient Chinese paintings inspired by music during the Song Dynasty (960–1127).

Using interactive displays, projected artwork and traditional Chinese music, the exhibition invites visitors to explore the melodies, stories and cultural significance depicted in the historic paintings.

Organisers said the exhibition aims to deepen international appreciation of Chinese art by combining visual, musical and digital experiences that bring centuries-old masterpieces to life.
