DeepSeek plans price increase for AI services

Chinese artificial intelligence company DeepSeek has announced plans to increase prices for its application programming interface (API) services, with the changes expected to take effect in the near future.

The company said the price adjustment could be significant and advised customers to plan their usage ahead of the new pricing, which will be announced at a later date.

The move comes less than a week after DeepSeek launched public testing of the DeepSeek-V4-Flash API.

Industry analysts believe the increase may signal the upcoming release of the more advanced V4-Pro model, which is expected to require greater computing resources.

DeepSeek has gained attention for offering low-cost AI models that intensified competition among Chinese developers by reducing the cost of deploying artificial intelligence applications. The company currently uses different pricing for peak and off-peak periods, with higher charges during weekday peak hours.
