Grenada reaffirms strong ties with China
Grenada has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening relations with China, as the two countries look to expand cooperation in areas including renewable energy, digital transformation and infrastructure.
Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell, speaking at a reception marking the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, said Grenada deeply values its friendship with Beijing.
Mitchell said relations have continued to grow since diplomatic ties were restored in 2005, with China supporting Grenada in infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture and human resource development.
He said the partnership has delivered tangible benefits while also strengthening cultural and educational exchanges between the two countries.

Chinese Ambassador Yang Shu described Grenada as a trusted Caribbean partner and pointed to ongoing agricultural cooperation, community projects and training opportunities.
According to the ambassador, more than 700 Grenadians have participated in short-term training programmes in China this year.
He said Beijing is also interested in expanding cooperation with Grenada in green energy, digital transformation, infrastructure upgrades and disaster prevention and mitigation.
