Chinese Ambassador to Guyana Yang Yang has reaffirmed China's commitment to strengthening ties with Guyana, describing the two countries as close partners with a shared vision for development and prosperity.

In a message marking the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and Guyana's 60th Independence Anniversary, Ambassador Yang said the milestones reflect the enduring pursuit of national development and closer cooperation between the two nations.

She highlighted China's transformation into the world's second-largest economy under the leadership of the CPC, pointing to achievements in poverty reduction, technological innovation and economic growth.

Turning to Guyana, Yang praised the country's progress since independence and welcomed the Government's "One Guyana" vision, noting its focus on inclusive development, infrastructure, education and healthcare.

The ambassador said China and Guyana have built a strong partnership over their 54 years of diplomatic relations, with growing political trust, practical cooperation and people-to-people exchanges.

"Standing at a new historical starting point, China will continue to move forward hand in hand with Guyana, strengthen the alignment of development strategies, build a stronger China-Guyana community with a shared future, and bring more benefits of cooperation to the two peoples," Yang said.

She added that both countries, as members of the Global South, will continue working together to safeguard the interests of developing nations and promote a more just and equitable international order.
