Ambassador lauds Antigua and Barbuda's growing interest in China

Chinese Ambassador to Antigua and Barbuda Jiang Wei met with Daryll Matthew, Minister for Education, Science and Technology of Antigua and Barbuda on May 28, 2026.

They exchanged views on his recent attendance at the World Digital Education Conference in China, as well as on further enhancement of educational cooperation between China and Antigua and Barbuda.

Matthew thanked China for the invitation to the conference, appreciated China’s achievements in educational innovation, and expressed willingness to further expand exchanges and cooperation between the two countries in digital education, Chinese language promotion, etc., in order to deepen the younger generation’s understanding of China, laying the groundwork for future friendship.

Jiang pointed out that in recent years, educational cooperation between China and Antigua and Barbuda has become increasingly close. More and more young Antiguans and Barbudans are gaining an interest in China, learning Chinese and going to China for further study. China is ready to work with Antigua and Barbuda to jointly consolidate the foundation of cooperation, promote inter-school exchanges, increase investment in Chinese language education, and continue the friendship between the two peoples.
