The Chinese Embassy in Antigua and Barbuda commemorated the International Day of Dialogue Among Civilizations with a cultural event highlighting the growing relationship between the two countries and the benefits of people-to-people exchanges.

The celebration brought together former scholarship recipients, professionals, and other individuals who have studied or trained in China. Many shared their experiences of living in the country and spoke about the educational and professional opportunities they gained.

Addressing the gathering, Chinese Ambassador to Antigua and Barbuda, Jiang Wei, said the observance promotes mutual understanding, respect and cooperation among nations. She noted that dialogue between cultures can help strengthen international friendship while allowing countries to preserve their unique identities.

The event featured cultural performances in both English and Mandarin and showcased the deepening ties that have developed through educational exchanges and bilateral cooperation.

Several attendees who recently participated in a government training programme in China also reflected on their exposure to advanced technologies, modern infrastructure and industrial development. They said the experience provided valuable insights that could contribute to development efforts in Antigua and Barbuda.

Organisers noted that educational scholarships, technical training and cultural exchanges have become important pillars of relations between the two countries, helping to build skills and strengthen people-to-people connections.
