China-Aid training to help Grenada better maintain new energy vehicles

The orientation meeting for a China-aid training program on new energy vehicle and hybrid electric vehicle maintenance technology was held at the Kirani James Athletic Stadium in St. George, Grenada on May 22, 2026.


Speaking at the event, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Grenada Yang Shu outlined China’s achievements in the development of the new energy vehicle industry, the latest outcomes of a high-level China-US summit, and progress in China-Grenada human resources cooperation.


He expressed that China stands ready to share development experience and practical expertise to help Grenada advance green economic transition. He encouraged training participants to value this learning opportunity and to engage in diligent study, interactive exchanges with instructors, and contribute to the growth of Grenada’s new energy vehicle industry upon their return.



Meanwhile representatives from Grenada extended appreciation for China’s long-term support in human resources capacity training. They emphasized that Grenada is pressing ahead with new energy vehicle development and technological upgrades which serve as a core pillar of its national energy transition. Training participants are expected to sharpen their maintenance capabilities through the training, which will fuel industry progress and bolster energy transformation in Grenada’s transportation sector.


Along with the participants, Lyndonna Hillaire-Marshall, Permanent Secretary for the Department of Public Administration, Isabel Morris, Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Transportation and other Grenadian officials attended the event.
