China and Antigua & Barbuda public library seeking to enhance cultural exchanges

Chinese Ambassador Jiang Wei visited the National Public Library of Antigua and Barbuda on May 21, 2026.


She toured offices, book collection areas, the Books on China collection and cultural activity center . She also discussed enhancing cultural exchanges between China and Antigua and Barbuda with the library director Ryllis Mannix.



During the interaction, Jiang thanked the Library for its long-standing active support in promoting cultural exchanges between the two countries, and stated that China is willing to further cooperate with Antigua and Barbuda in enriching library collections and fostering mutual learning between the two civilizations to enhance people-to-people connectivity.


Mannix introduced the Library's operations, collections of books, and social activities and expressed its readiness to continue leveraging its platform advantages to work with the Embassy in bringing about more meaningful Chinese cultural experience and exchange programs.


The National Public Library of Antigua and Barbuda, established in 1830, is dedicated to providing the public with open access to reading and cultural experiences. The Books on China collection was launched in 2022.
