China reaffirms support for technological development during talks with Dominica

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has reaffirmed that all countries, regardless of their size, should have the opportunity to pursue economic development and technological advancement.

Wang made the remarks during a meeting with Dominica's Minister for Foreign Affairs, International Business, Trade and Energy, Vince Henderson, on the sidelines of the World Artificial Intelligence Conference in Shanghai.

He said China remains committed to promoting the development of artificial intelligence across the Global South and is prepared to expand cooperation with Dominica and other countries in Latin America and the Caribbean in the field of emerging technologies.

Minister Henderson welcomed China's continued support for Dominica's economic and social development, while expressing appreciation for Beijing's assistance in addressing shared global challenges, including climate change.

The discussions also underscored the longstanding partnership between China and Dominica and both countries' commitment to strengthening cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
