China has delivered the first shipment of emergency humanitarian aid to Venezuela following a series of earthquakes that affected communities in the country.

The supplies arrived at Simón Bolívar International Airport near Caracas on Monday, where Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yván Gil and Chinese Ambassador to Venezuela Lan Hu received the assistance.

The relief package includes essential items such as tents and generators to support residents who lost homes or require emergency assistance after the disaster.

Gil expressed gratitude to the Chinese government and people, saying Beijing had remained in close contact with Venezuelan authorities since the earthquakes occurred.

He said the assistance reflects the strong ties between the two countries and highlights the continued cooperation under their all-weather strategic partnership.

Chinese officials said the aid forms part of efforts to provide humanitarian support and assist Venezuela in its recovery following the disaster.
