China’s State Council announces key official appointments and removals

China’s State Council on Monday announced a series of high-level appointments and personnel changes across key government departments, signaling continued efforts to strengthen leadership in critical sectors.


Ke Jixin has been appointed vice minister of Industry and Information Technology, taking on a role pivotal for China’s ongoing technological and industrial development.


Chen Shaowang will serve as vice minister of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, overseeing urban planning and housing initiatives amid China’s focus on sustainable city growth.

Pang Xiaogang has been named deputy head of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC), responsible for managing China’s vast portfolio of state-owned enterprises.


Rui Wenbiao will take over as deputy head of the China National Intellectual Property Administration, replacing Lu Pengqi, highlighting China’s increasing emphasis on innovation and intellectual property protection.


Wang Wei has been appointed deputy head of the National Fire and Rescue Administration, tasked with strengthening emergency response and public safety infrastructure.


These appointments reflect Beijing’s ongoing efforts to consolidate expertise in sectors ranging from industrial development and urban planning to intellectual property and emergency management.
