China unveils 19 measures to boost innovation, AI and green energy
China has announced 19 measures aimed at accelerating technological innovation, modernising industries and strengthening economic growth under its 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030).
The measures, issued jointly by the Communist Party of China Central Committee and the State Council, focus on five key areas, including scientific innovation, industrial development, institutional reforms and talent management.
A major priority is expanding artificial intelligence through the country's "AI Plus" initiative, which seeks to integrate advanced technologies into manufacturing and other traditional industries.

The plan also encourages businesses to increase investment in research and development, supported by improved tax incentives and greater participation in national innovation projects.
Green energy is another major focus, with China seeking to expand renewable power generation, advance nuclear technology and strengthen energy storage systems to support its carbon reduction goals.
Chinese officials say the measures are designed to improve productivity, strengthen industrial competitiveness and create new drivers of sustainable economic growth.
