China will always be a 'good friend' to Latin America, Caribbean countries

Chinese President Xi Jinping has reaffirmed Beijing’s deepening engagement with Latin America and the Caribbean, describing China as a trusted friend and reliable partner to the region.

In remarks to the 10th Summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) in Bogotá, Xi said China will continue to support countries in protecting their sovereignty while advancing development goals.

He pointed to expanding cooperation between China and CELAC members, noting that joint initiatives have strengthened economic ties and delivered tangible benefits to citizens.

Xi also underscored the importance of unity among developing nations, highlighting CELAC’s role in promoting regional stability and amplifying the voice of the Global South.

The summit brings together regional leaders to tackle shared challenges, with China positioning itself as a major partner in trade, investment and development cooperation.
