Chinese actor Yu Menglong dies from an accidental fall from a building due to drinking: Yu’s mother

Yu Menglong, a 37-year-old Chinese actor and singer, best known for his roles in “Go Princess Go” and “Eternal Love,” died of an accidental fall from a building under the influence of alcohol on September 11, Yu’s mother revealed in a statement released by his studio on Tuesday.

“I am Yu Menglong’s mother. Recently, I experienced immense grief as my beloved son, Yu Menglong, tragically passed away after accidentally falling from a building due to drinking, and left us forever,” Yu’s mother said in the statement, adding that she is in deep sorrow by this sudden misfortune. 


According to Yu’s mother, the public security authorities informed her of the investigation results, and the aftermath had been properly handled. 


She hopes everyone can view this incident rationally and refrain from further speculation. “I also hope to return to a peaceful life as soon as possible and, with the memory of Menglong in my heart, strive to live each day well. I believe this is also what Menglong would have wished,” she said. 


Born on June 15, 1988, in Urumqi, Northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, Yu first gained prominence as a singer through talent shows such as “My Show” and “Happy Boys,” initially developing his career in the entertainment industry as a singer. In 2014, he began his transition to acting by participating in the drama “The Loving Home,” He later starred in various series, including “Go Princess Go” and “Eternal Love,” according to the Nanfang Plus.
