Chinese ambassador to the Bahamas meets with delegation set to attend seminar in China

On 1 August 2025, Her Excellency Yan Jiarong, Chinese Ambassador to The Bahamas, met with representatives of participants who will soon travel to China for the "Seminar on Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs)  Management for The Bahamas",  including Mr.Barry Griffin, Vice President of The Bahamas Senate and Chairman of the Bahamas Trade Commission, Mr.Randy Rolle, Senator and Chairman of The Bahamas Consumer Protection Commission, Mr. Dave Munroe, Acting Managing Director of The Bahamas Development Bank. The two sides had an in-depth exchanges on China-Bahamas economic and trade cooperation, SME management, and capacity building.

Ambassador Yan introduced China’s path to modernization, the Global Development Initiative(GDI), and China’s policies and practices in SME development, E-commerce, and consumer protection. She emphasized the Seminar, designed to align with The Bahamas’ needs and priorities, offers an opportunity for participants to know more about China’s successful SME development, to have direct interaction with Chinese SMEs, and further benefiting both nations and their peoples.


Griffin and other delegates appreciated China’s longstanding support for The Bahamas’ economic and social development, particularly in the SME sector. They looked forward to in-depth exchanges with Chinese counterparts, contributing to bilateral economic and trade cooperation and further strengthening the friendship between the two countries.
