The Chinese film Dear You, also known as Love Letters to Grandma, premiered in Jakarta, Indonesia, ahead of its nationwide theatrical release on Friday.
The movie tells the story of "qiaopi"-letters and remittances sent by overseas Chinese to their families in China-and explores themes of family, love and heritage through the memories preserved in those messages.
The premiere attracted guests from the political, business and cultural sectors of both China and Indonesia and received an emotional response from audiences, particularly members of the overseas Chinese community.

Among those attending was 82-year-old Chen Meizhuan, who said the film reminded her of her father's experience after he migrated from China's Guangdong Province to Indonesia during the Second World War.
She recalled that he stayed connected with relatives in China for decades through letters and financial support, making the story deeply personal.
The film is scheduled for nationwide release across Indonesia on Friday.
