Grenada's Chinese ambassador and local officials inspect community project

Chinese Ambassador to Grenada Yang Shu and Philip Telesford, Grenada's Health Minister, along with other local officials inspected a community project in the south east and north east constituencies of the St. George parish on May 13, 2026.

Ambassador Yang stated that social services are an important part of grassroots governance. China has always attached great importance to optimizing the community environment and public facilities. China is willing to work together with Grenada to implement the Five Programs under the framework of the China-Latin America Community with a Shared Future, and contribute to community development through small but smart projects, continuously enhancing the sense of happiness and well-being of the Grenada people.

The Grenadian side expressed its gratitude to the Chinese side for its long-standing support for the community projects in Grenada. It is hoped that with the continuous assistance of the Chinese side, Grenada will further upgrade rural and community public facilities, create more cultural and sports activity venues for local residents, and enhance community cohesion.

The MP for St. George south east constituency, and St. George north east constituencies were also present during the inspection.
