High tech products formed half of China’s 2026 export growth - Vice Premier says
During the opening of the Ninth China International Import Expo and the Hongqiao International Economic Forum (CIIE) in Shanghai on November 5, China signaled its willingness to deepen Science and Technology (S&T) ties with the world, including developing countries, while noting the growth of its tech exports.
In his address, Vice Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, Ding Xuexiang, revealed that high-tech products contributed over 50 per cent to China’s export growth in the first three quarters of the year. In fact, he described these products as the main engine of China’s foreign trade expansion and expressed the country’s willingness to deepen Science and Technology collaboration with all countries.
“In the first three quarters, China’s integrated-circuit exports surged by 99.1 per cent, exports of the “new three items” jumped 45.6 per cent, and. The competitiveness of Chinese products comes not from government subsidies, but from technological strengths forged by sustained heavy R&D investment and corporate innovation drive,” Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang said.

The Vice Premier also emphasized China’s push for an open world economy that is both predictable and sustainable. He also noted China’s continued belief in sharing its experiences with developing countries.
“China’s rise as a global manufacturing hub stem from its commitment to opening up for development, making it a fertile ground for multinational investment. We share experience with developing countries and support the building of diverse industrial parks across Southeast Asia, Africa and beyond, boosting local employment, industrialization and trade conditions,” Ding Xuexiang said.

The so-called “China-crowding-out thesis” hyped by certain institutions and media stems from zero-sum-game thinking and simply does not hold water,” he went on to emphasize, adding that China will continue to encourage foreign enterprises operating within its borders.
As many as 162 countries, regions and international organizations are participating in this year’s CIIE at the National Exhibition and Convention Center, with more than 4,100 exhibitors featured in the Business Exhibition, with a number of them being fortune Global 500 companies.
The opening ceremony itself featured in excess of 50 ministerial‑level and higher‑ranked guests. Meanwhile, the exhibition itself will last from November 5-10.
