His Excellency Wang Jinfeng, new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Jamaica and Permanent Representative of China to the International Seabed Authority (ISA), arrived in Kingston to assume his post on 4 August 2025. The representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Jamaica, ISA and senior diplomats of the Chinese Embassy in Jamaica welcomed Ambassador Wang at the airport.

Ambassador Wang made remarks at the airport as follows: I am deeply honoured to serve as the Chinese Ambassador to Jamaica, the beautiful “land of wood and water”. Since the establishment of our diplomatic relations in 1972, China-Jamaica relationship has been moving forward in a sound momentum. Under the strategic guidance of the leaders of both countries in recent years, the comprehensive bilateral relationship has been further deepened and expanded, with cooperation in various areas continues to yield fruitful results. I look forward to working with Jamaican friends to further consolidate political trust, deepen pragmatic cooperation, enhance people-to-people exchanges and strengthen our coordination on international and regional affairs, with an aim to further promote China-Jamaica strategic partnership to a new high, and bring more benefits to the peoples of both countries.
The representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Jamaica warmly welcomed Ambassador Wang, and emphasized that Jamaica always attaches high importance to Jamaica-China relationship, and is willing to give full support to Ambassador Wang to jointly elevate the bilateral strategic relationship to an even higher level.
