The Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Dominica on Thursday, 20 November 2025, brought together nearly 40 Dominican professionals for a China Aid Training Alumni Reunion, celebrating years of cooperation and capacity-building between the two countries.

Chinese Ambassador H.E. Chu Maoming joined senior Dominican government officials, including Mrs. Diamond Dailey, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Mr. Ryan Anselm, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture. Also in attendance was Mr. Sun Xinhua, Head of Economic and Commercial Affairs at the Chinese Embassy, alongside alumni from the Office of the Prime Minister, the agriculture sector, business associations, and the private sector.

During the event, past trainees reflected on their experiences in China, praising the country’s rapid development and the practical knowledge gained through the programs. Many said the training deepened their understanding of China while equipping them with skills they can apply to Dominica’s ongoing development across various fields.

Ambassador Chu congratulated the participants on completing their training and reaffirmed China’s continued commitment to supporting human-resource development and capacity-building in Dominica. Mrs. Dailey and Mr. Anselm expressed gratitude for the opportunities provided by China and said they look forward to deepening cooperation in the years ahead.

A highlight video showcasing memorable moments from the participants’ time in China was warmly received, helping set a reflective and engaging tone for the discussions that followed.
