Chinese Ambassador to Guyana, Yang Yang, joined University of Guyana Vice-Chancellor Paloma Mohamed-Martin and University Librarian Simone Bernard for the inauguration of the China Book Corner at the University of Guyana on Monday.
As part of the initiative, Ambassador Yang donated a collection of books on Chinese governance, development and public policy to the university's library.
Speaking at the ceremony, the ambassador said the China Book Corner will help strengthen cultural exchange and people-to-people connections between Guyana and China. She noted that the collection offers readers an opportunity to learn more about China's governance model, development experience and cultural heritage.

Vice-Chancellor Mohamed-Martin welcomed the donation and described the initiative as a reflection of the growing friendship and cultural cooperation between the two countries.
She expressed confidence that the resource will encourage greater interest in China among students, researchers and the wider public.
The China Book Corner is expected to serve as a platform for learning and cultural engagement at the university.
