China & Guyana reaffirm strong partnership, commit to deepening cooperation

Chinese Ambassador to Guyana Yang Yang recently met with Guyanese President Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali to discuss the ongoing development of China-Guyana bilateral relations and explore new avenues for practical cooperation between the two nations.


During the meeting, Ambassador Yang commended Guyana’s steadfast commitment to the longstanding friendship between the two countries and its support for the four global initiatives proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping, the Global Development Initiative (GDI), the Global Security Initiative (GSI), the Global Civilization Initiative (GCI), and the Global AI Governance Initiative (GAIGI).

Ambassador Yang emphasized that China remains ready to enhance strategic alignment with Guyana, particularly through the Belt and Road Initiative, to generate more tangible outcomes that will benefit both nations and their peoples.


President Ali, in turn, expressed his appreciation for the strong and evolving Guyana-China partnership, noting that the relationship has yielded practical results across multiple sectors. He reaffirmed Guyana’s commitment to further deepening cooperation and welcomed increased investment by Chinese companies in key areas that support Guyana’s national development and economic transformation.
