Chinese ambassador to Guyana publishes article on preserving historical memory, world peace

On August 17, 2025, H.E. Yang Yang, the Chinese Ambassador to Guyana, published a signed article titled “Preserving Historical Memory and Upholding World Peace” in leading Guyanese media outlets, including the Guyana Chronicle, Guyana Times, Kaieteur News, and Stabroek News.

The article commemorates the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. In the article, Ambassador Yang highlighted the significant historical contributions of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression to the victory of the World Anti-Fascist War.

She also reviewed China’s important role in promoting world peace and development, and called for upholding a correct historical view of WWII, firmly safeguarding the post-war international order, resolutely adhering to the one-China principle, implementing the three global initiatives, and jointly building a community with a shared future for mankind.
