Cricket West Indies (CWI) is exploring a partnership with China as it advances plans for a High-Performance Campus at the Coolidge Cricket Ground in Antigua.

The proposal was discussed during a meeting between CWI officials and Chinese Ambassador to Antigua and Barbuda, Her Excellency Jiang Wei. Talks focused on possible Chinese involvement in the design and construction of the facility, including the supply of materials, equipment and contractor support.

The campus is expected to serve as CWI's headquarters and a regional hub for elite player development, coaching, sports science and cricket operations.

CWI Chief Executive Officer Chris Dehring said the project is a major investment in the future of West Indies cricket and that international partnerships will be key to bringing the vision to life.

Ambassador Jiang welcomed the discussions, noting that the Chinese-built Sir Vivian Richards Stadium has already contributed to sports development in Antigua and Barbuda. She said China looks forward to expanding cooperation with CWI.

The High-Performance Campus is a key initiative under CWI's 2024–2027 strategic plan, The Long Run, which aims to strengthen cricket infrastructure and high-performance development across the Caribbean.
