Guyana will come alive with colour, culture and world-class entertainment this month as the internationally acclaimed Acrobatic Troupe from China stages a series of performances across the country in celebration of the nation’s 60th Independence Anniversary.

The troupe is set to deliver a spectacular showcase of agility, balance and artistic mastery, bringing audiences a blend of traditional Chinese performance and modern acrobatic excellence. The tour forms part of ongoing cultural exchanges between Guyana and China and is expected to attract large crowds at venues nationwide.

The performances will begin on April 19 at the Leonora Track and Field Stadium in Region Three at 6:00 p.m., followed by a Georgetown showing at the National Cultural Centre on April 20 at 7:00 p.m. The troupe will then move to Albion Stadium in Region Six on April 21 at 6:00 p.m., McKenzie Stadium in Region Ten on April 22 at 7:00 p.m., and conclude at the Anna Regina Stadium in Region Two on April 23 at 1:00 p.m.

All shows are free to the public, with the exception of the National Cultural Centre performance, where tickets will be required. Tickets for that show will be available from the Cultural Centre’s box office from April 8, and members of the public are encouraged to call ahead before visiting.

The initiative is being co-hosted by the Chinese Embassy in Guyana and the Government of Guyana, with sponsorship from CNOOC Petroleum Guyana Limited.

The upcoming performances are expected to add a vibrant cultural highlight to Guyana’s diamond jubilee celebrations, offering citizens a rare opportunity to experience one of China’s most celebrated performing arts traditions.
